1-1.Installation procedure of RedHatLINUX6.2

Prior Preparation
　The Start-up of X20 is set as CD boot.

 1. Boot from CD
  The screen of "Welcome to Red Hat Linux 6.2!" is displayed.
  Installation procedure of RedHatLINUX6.2 in text mode.

  "text" is inputted into 'boot:' and the "Enter key" is pushed.



 2. "Choose a Language" screens
  "English" is chosen and "O.K." is pushed.



 3. "Keyboard Type" screens
  "jp106" is chosen and "O.K." is pushed.



 4. "Install Method" screens
  "Local CDROM" is chosen and "O.K." is pushed.



 5. "Red Hat Linux" screens
  "O.K." is pushed and progresses next.



 6. "Installation Type" screens
  "Install GNOME Workstation" is chosen and "O.K." is pushed
You are able to select the "Installation Type".



 7. "Automatic Partitioning" screens
  In the case of automatic assignment:"Continue" is chosen and "O.K." is pushed
  In the case of manual assignment:"Manually partition" is chosen and "O.K." is pushed.



 8. "Current Disk Partition" screens
  Assignment is checked, "O.K." is pushed and progresses next.



 9. "Choose Partitions to Format" screens
  The partition to format is checked and "O.K." is pushed.



 10. "Hostname Configuration" screens
  The hostname is inputted and "O.K." is pushed.



 11. "Network Configuration" screens
  When assigning IP by DHCP,"Use botp/dhcp" is chosed and "O.K." is pushed.
  When assigning IP to fixation,a value is inputted into each item and "O.K." is pushed.



 12. "Mouse Selection" screens
  "Generic - 3 Button Mouse (PS/2)" is chosen and "O.K." is pushed.



 13. "Time Zone Selection" screens
  "Japan" is chosen and "O.K." is pushed.



 14. "Root Password" screens
  "Password：" and "Password(again)：" are inputted and "O.K." is pushed.



 15. "Add User" screens
  You can add the additional user.



 16. "X Probe resalts" screens
  Video Card is recognized automatically and X Server is chosen.
  "O.K." is pushed and progresses next.



 17. "Installation to begin" screens
  It checks that the outputting point of a log is /tmp/install.log, and "O.K." is pushed.



 18. "Formatting" screens
　Wait for a while.



 19. "Package Installation" screens
  Preparation of installation is started and installation starts after that.
  An end of installation performs Post Install Configuration after installation.

　　　



 20. "Bootdisk" screens
  "Yes" is pushed and created when making a boot disk.
  When creation is unnecessary, "No" is pushed and progresses next.



 21. "Monitor Setup" screens
  In the case of X20,"Custom" is chosen and "O.K." is pushed.



 22. "Custom Monitor Setup" screens
  After pushing "OK","Non-Interlaced SVGA, 1024x786@60Hz,800x600@72Hz" are chosen and "O.K." is pushed.

　　　

 23. "Custom Monitor Setup(Continued)" screens
  "50-70" is chosen and "O.K." is pushed.



 24. "Probing to begin" and "Probing finished" screens
  "Use Default" is chosen after pushing "O.K.".

　　　

 25. "Starting X" screens
  It checks whether "O.K." is pushed and X screens are displayed.
  It is rebooted after check.



 26. When a run level is 5, a login screen is displayed as follows.
